Here's a cutting, dated 7 April 1917, from The War Illustrated. Sadly the words which might explain more about the award she received have been cut off. If anyone has access to the full article, please let us know via Edie's Visitors Book. The War Illustrated was a British war magazine published in London by William Berry. It was first released on 22 August 1914, eighteen days after the United Kingdom declared war on Germany, and regular issues continued throughout World War I.
